Variations on standard wiring
Special compatibility sets are available, to enable you to
combine the decoder with amplifiers and receivers from
earlier generations of
equipment, or with amplifiers /
receivers of other makes, and also to use the unit in a
home cinema set-up.
To establish which compatibility set you require, please
check first whether your
amplifier / receiver features
a
TASI
interface (Cinch version: see illustration) or an
R
LINK
socket.
TASI-interface
(Cinch version)
The following list provides information about the com-
patibility set you require.
1.
amplifier (Cinch-version) and R
LINK
-socket.
For this variant you need the compatibility set
DKS 1

2.
amplifier with TASI interface (Cinch-version)
but without R
LINK
socket.
For this variant you need the compatibility set
DKS 2

amplifier without TASI interface and without

socket.
If you have an amplifier of this type, we recommend
that you upgrade your system by purchasing a

amplifier with TASI- and

LINK
interface. However, it
is possible to have certain models of
amplifier
upgrade. Please ask your specialist
dealer for
further details.
4. The decoder in a home cinema set-up
The decoder can also be used for pure home cinema
applications without the addition of a stereo pre-
amplifier or integrated amlifier. In this case a sepa-
rate power amplifier (e.g.
A 1210
or
A 1520
is re-
quired for the front channels; see sketch.
For this variant you need the compatibility set
DKS 3
.
5. Connecting the decoder to a different make of
amplifier / receiver.
If you are using a
different make of amplifier
, the
decoder can be looped into the TAPE MONITOR cir-
cuit; see sketch.
For this variant you need the compatibility set

6. Connecting the decoder to the PD 1200 R (ana-
logue).
For this variant you need the compatibility set
DKS 5
.
Note:
Each compatibility set consists of the hardware you
require for the connections, together with instruc-
tions and information on connecting and setting up
the equipment.
