6.2.1 Lateral Air Assist
During laser engraving and laser cutting, the supply of compressed air can significantly influence
and improve results. Air assist is often used with vector cutting applications to derive heat and
flammable gases from the cutting surface. Through a constant airflow over the whole cutting
surface, fire sources will be removed and fume is reduced. In addition, air assist improves
engraving dust removal.
According to used lens the position of the air assist nozzle must be adapted accordingly.
Small leads on the holder mark the single positions.

If the air assist nozzle is adjusted to a 2,5'' lens or bigger, automatic focusing
with the light barrier is not possible. This would lead to a collision of the laser
head with the workpiece or with the working table ("head crash").
In this case please use the manual focusing method or use a different position
for the air assist nozzle. The damage of the machine by a collision is excluded
from warranty.
