First Time Setup
Note on Tyto Device Battery Saving Modes
The Tyto Device features a power consumption efficiency mechanism, which switches the Tyto
Device into sleep mode or shuts it down automatically when not in use, to save battery usage.
The Tyto Device triggers the following actions to save battery usage:
l Exit Exam - When the Tyto Device is not in use for one minute, while performing an exam, it
exits the exam automatically, and returns to the Exam Selection screen.
l Sleep Mode - When the Tyto Device is not in use for one minute, and not performing an exam,
it enters sleep mode automatically.
l During Sleep mode, the Device screen is turned off. This mode is indicated by a blinking green
light on the Device. To exit sleep mode, press the physical button on top of the Device.
l Power Off - When the Tyto Device is in sleep mode for three minutes, without being restored to
active mode, it automatically turns itself off to save battery. When the Device is turned on
again, it reverts to its previous state automatically.
Note: Not in use means both that the Device screen has not been touched and
it was not physically moved during the above period.
