If a new Vaisala RFL100 Data Logger isn't showing up as a New Device in viewLinc, here's what to check:
* Ensure the RFL100 is within 100 m of an AP10 with installation mode on and capacity for more loggers (max 32 per AP10). If it is not, turn on installation mode in an AP10 that is within range and has capacity.
* Verify the AP10 is connected to the network with a valid IP address, configured to connect to the correct viewLinc Enterprise Server, and that its viewLinc connection is OK.
* If the RFL100 was previously accepted into a different viewLinc system, press the Release button on the RFL100 until 'NWK REL' appears on the screen. This makes it ready to join any AP10 in installation mode.

Why does my Vaisala Data Loggers RFL100 turn off by itself?

If your Vaisala RFL100 Data Logger is turning off unexpectedly, here are a couple of things to consider:
* The display and LED might have been remotely disabled via the viewLinc Enterprise Server. You can adjust this setting in the Hosts and Devices tree. If connecting to a new viewLinc system, press the Release button on the RFL100 until 'NWK REL' appears on the screen to restore the display and LED.
* The main batteries could be depleted. In that case, replace the main batteries.

If your Vaisala Data Loggers shows Err 103, it means the main battery voltage is critically low. The data logger has stopped radio communication to conserve energy but continues to record measurement data in the local memory. Replace the main batteries of the data logger.

How to fix Err 102 on Vaisala Data Loggers?
C
Courtney BrownAug 18, 2025
If your Vaisala Data Loggers displays Err 102, it indicates that the real-time clock has lost accurate time. To resolve this, restore the wireless connection to an AP10 access point. The RFL100 will then synchronize its clock with the time from the access point.
