RS-485 Communica-
tion Not Working
Serial settings are incorrect for data
transfer such as Baud Rate, Parity
Setting, Data Bit, and Flow Control.
Verify serial communication settings to make sure
settings are correct for data transfer.
Bad cable connecting TLS-
450PLUS to serial device.
Verify if cable is bad.
Polarity of wiring is wrong. Verify wiring polarity.
Bad RS-485 comm module. Replace RS-485 comm module.
Bad comm backplane. Replace comm backplane.
IFSF Communication
Not Working
Verify LON Card selected for device
field on IFSF Communication Setup
screen.
Not selected - Correct device selection
Selected - Go to next cause.
No Communication Verify Node ID and IFSF messages displayed in
Diagnostic Module IFSF screen:
On the front panel screen touch Menu>Diagnos-
tics>Module>IFSF:. This screen allows you to view
messages for the Node ID so you can validate IFSF
communications. The messages (Data) are listed in
descending order with the latest message at the top
(see example below).
No messages have been received - Go to next

Messages have been received - Done
