2. INTRODUCTION
The VICI DBS
®
PCB 1500 PLUS is a Peltier-controlled external water re-circulator ideal for all thermostatic
cell holders. As a stand-alone external accessory, it requires no electronic or physical modication to the cell
holders. The principal feature of this device is that the water is heated and cooled using Peltier elements,
allowing a very wide temperature range as well as providing excellent temperature accuracy. The PCB 1500
provides temperatures ranging from 20 °C to 60 °C with ±1 °C stability and ±0.1 °C repeatability.
The features of the PCB 1500 include:
• Peltier element for heating and cooling the circulating liquid.
• Internal ow pump to circulate the liquid.
• The PCB 1500 can operate in either manual or remote control via a USB port
• A set of thermally insulated connection tubes to connect the PCB 1500 to any accessory
• A water level sensor to ensure correct operation
• A high temperature sensor to avoid any system damage and malfunctions
In addition, the heating and cooling ramps can be programmed locally and remotely (remote software
available as an option):
• The PCB 1500W is suitable to thermostate an external water jacked cuvette/mass and requires a VICI DBS
cuvette holder (available as an option).
• PCB1500 Plus Can be connected to an external cell holder that can be developed by VCI DBS upon
request.
• The PCB 1500 High Performance is a PCB1500 that has even more power of heating and cooling (range
from 4ºC to 90°C) and is suitable for all water-thermostat cuvette holders (available as an option).
