Why does Victaulic FireLock 758 Control Unit valve actuate without sprinkler activation?
    • Y
      yzamoraAug 2, 2025
If the Victaulic Control Unit valve actuates without sprinkler activation, it's likely due to a loss of air pressure in the system. You should check the system for leaks and ensure the air maintenance device is working correctly. Installing a low air pressure alarm might also be a good idea.

How to fix Victaulic Control Unit system valve operating without sprinkler activation?
    • C
      cohenkeithAug 6, 2025
If the Victaulic Control Unit system valve operates without the sprinkler being activated, this is likely due to a loss of air pressure in the lower inlet chamber. Check the system and trim for any leaks. Also, confirm that the air maintenance device attached to the trim is working properly.

What to do if water leaking from the ball drip of Victaulic FireLock 758 Control Unit?
    • M
      Matthew EllisAug 10, 2025
If you notice water leaking from the Victaulic Control Unit ball drip, it indicates water is bypassing the seal and entering the intermediate chamber. Inspect the clapper rubber seal and the valve seat ring for any physical damage or foreign objects that might be obstructing the seal surface.

Why Victaulic FireLock 758 dry accelerator does not operate within a 5-psi pressure drop?
    • D
      Daniel WangAug 14, 2025
If the Victaulic Control Unit dry accelerator isn't operating within a 5-psi pressure drop, it could be due to air pressure loss in the upper air chamber. Apply soapy water to all joints of the dry accelerator to check for air leaks. Repair any leaks found, and then re-test the system.

What to do if Victaulic Control Unit clapper will not latch closed?
    • P
      Philip DavisAug 18, 2025
If the Victaulic Control Unit clapper won't latch closed, it may be caused by no air pressure on the dry actuator or no water pressure on the actuator piston. Make sure that the ball valve is open on pneumatic/pneumatic systems and that the pressures in the pilot line and system line are greater than 8 psi.

How to stop water leaks through Victaulic FireLock 758 Control Unit actuator into the drain?
    • M
      michaelbarnettAug 23, 2025
If water leaks through the Victaulic Control Unit actuator into the drain when the water supply line to the piston is opened, the adjustable seat on top of the actuator may be set too high. Here's how to adjust it: 1. Close the ball valve on the piston water supply line. 2. Open the system main drain until the Actuator trips. 3. Turn the seat with an adjustable wrench ¹?? turn clockwise. 4. Set the actuator again. If it still leaks, repeat the above procedure until it doesn’t leak.

What to do if upper chamber seal of Victaulic FireLock 758 does not engage?
    • J
      Jacqueline LawsonAug 27, 2025
If the upper chamber seal on your Victaulic Control Unit doesn't engage when pushing down during system setup, the adjustable seat on the top of the actuator might be set too low. To fix this, turn the seat with an adjustable wrench ¹?? turn counterclockwise. Then, try setting the actuator again. If it still doesn't engage, repeat this adjustment until it does.
