Full Flow Test
1. Notify the authority having jurisdiction and those in the
affected area that the test will be in progress.
2. Record the water supply pressure and the system air
pressure.
3. Fully open the water supply main drain valve to flush
any foreign materials from the system.
4. Close the water supply main drain valve.
5. Open the inspector’s test valve to simulate the operation
of a sprinkler head. For certain systems, it may be neces-
sary to trip the emergency release.
6. Confirm that all alarms operate properly.
7. Continue to run water until the water runs clear.
8. Close the remote test connection.
9. Close the main water supply control valve.
10. Follow Steps 4 - 10 of the “Placing the System in Ser-
vice” section.
MAINTENANCE
1. Notify the authority having jurisdiction and those in the
affected area that the system will be taken out of service.
2. Close the main water supply control valve. This takes
the system out of service.
3. Open the water supply main drain valve.
4. Confirm that no water is flowing from the water supply
main drain.
Any system service that requires taking the system out of service
may eliminate the re protection provided by the system. Prior to
servicing or testing the system, notify the authority having jurisdic-
tion of the operation being performed. Consideration of a re patrol
should be given in the affected areas.
Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury and/or property
damage.
Piping systems must always be depressurized and
drained before attempting disassembly and removal of
any Victaulic piping products.
Failure to follow this instruction could result in serious
personal injury, property damage, and/or valve leakage.
Any system service that requires taking the system out of service
may eliminate the re protection provided by the system. Prior to
servicing or testing the system, notify the authority having jurisdic-
tion of the operation being performed. Consideration of a re patrol
should be given in the affected areas.
Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury and/or property
damage.
