Controller
This is a Z-Wave™ device containing a description of the network,
which is used for:
• adding new devices (Inclusion)
• removing devices from the network (Exclusion)
• creating associations between devices on the network
(Association)
• receiving and transferring the network information (Replication)
The 01930 device (Radio Transceiver Base Station for time-pro-
grammable thermostat) is a controller.
Static Update Controller
This is a type of Controller which can broadcast information about
changes in the network to the other Z-Wave™ devices.
The 01931 device (Internal Communication Interface) is a Static
Update Controller.
Slave
This is a node on the Z-Wave™ network that can receive and trans-
mit data only when requested to do so. The 01933 devices (single
channel two-way radiofrequency actuator) and 01934 (four-channel
two-way radiofrequency actuator) are Slave devices.
Inclusion
Adds a Z-Wave™ device to the network.
Exclusion
Removes a Z-Wave™ device from the network.
Association
Creates a functional link between two or more devices on the Z-
Wave™ network between Controllers.
Replication
Transfers all the information about the Z-Wave™ network between
Controllers.
Autolearn
On a primary thermostat, carries out the inclusion and association
operations simultaneously. On a secondary thermostat, carries out
only the association operation (see paragraph 4.1 for the inclusion
of Z-Wave™ devices).
