6.8 How do I measure PD and PH?
Select the Lens mode by pressing the Lens mode button at the top right of the right toolbar
on the main screen.
Place the framed lens on the support.
Make sure the nose piece is fixed when taking the measurement.
Proceed to alignment
In automatic mode
The reading is automatically acquired and help
In manual mode
Press the measurement button located on the front of the VX36, to hold and store the measured data.
Note: in order to be more accurate, move the left and right lens towards the same direction during alignment.
Note: for low astigmatism lens, it is preferable to use the “manual reading” and make the prism power
IO, UD as small as possible.
The result is displayed below the measurement area, refer to the Lens Mode section.
Print out the results, refer to the How do I print out results? Section.
6.9 How do I measure UV transmittance, and blue light
measurment?
The percent transmittance of light in the ultraviolet portion of the spectrum (wavelength= 365nm) is shown in
a bar graph.
Place the lens on the support.
Select the UV mode, by pressing the UV button at the Right
Make sure the lens is aligned
Press the measurement button on the front of the vx36 (the automatic mode is displayed).
Note: when no lens is present, the bar graph indicate 100% transmittance (no blockage of the UV light).
6.10 How do I mark lenses?
The marking device places three marks on the lens, causing the pens to descend and mark the lens surface
Place the lens on the support.
Turn and press down on the marking lever, causing the pens to descend and mark the lens surface.
Carefully release the marking lever, so it will return to its initial position by its spring force.
