Calibration and Settings
IPS Calibration
On
new or renovated IPS unit installations two different
calibration routines must be carried out:
Calibration of the lower gear case factory setting
Calibration of lower gear case parallelism
Below is an overview of the calibration routines
together with a description of how the required special
tools must be used.
Further information regarding Volvo Penta IPS drive
unit calibrations and settings can be found in the
VODIA system.
IMPORTANT!
If a factory-set calibration or drive leg parallelity cali-
bration has not been performed, no gear can be
engaged.
IMPORTANT!
Drive leg calibration must always be carried out
according to the instructions.
Background
The boat may not be in the water.
The batteries must be fully charged or connected to
an external charging device.
No people or objects may be present inside the drive
leg operating area.
