Exhaust Outlet

Clean the mating surfaces on the gear case and
exhaust outlet.
2 Install the exhaust outlet using eight bolts. Use
grease to secure the O-ring in place. Tighten to
70–80 Nm (52–60 lbf.ft).
3 Install the exhaust elbow with a new O-ring. Insert
the six bolts and screw them in a few turns.
IMPORTANT!
Check
that no steel spirals protrude from the hose.
4 Determine
exhaust hose length: measure the dis-
tance between the exhaust elbow and the engine
exhaust pipe. Add 200 mm (7.87") for end over-
laps.
5 Use the hose clamp to mark around the entire
circumference of the hose. Saw off the hose and
clip off the steel spirals.
