When electrical cables are run through a bulkhead, it
is advantageous to run them through a conduit or
grommet that can be sealed properly. This also pro-
tects the cable against wear.
Fuel hoses that are run through bulkheads must be
protected by grommets. The grommet seals and pro-
tects the hose against sharp edges that may cause
leaks.
Other lines such as electrical and battery cables can
be run through a rubber hose or a special PVC pipe
(installation pipe) built into the hull. Any gaps between
the pipes and the cables can be sealed with insulating
material or sealing compound.
