The VuStream 150 acts as both an encoder and a decoder within a single compact unit.

Encoder Mode: When used as an encoder, it takes an HDMI 2.0 input signal (up to 3840x2160 at 60fps with audio) and encodes it into H.264 or H.265 streams. It supports various streaming protocols including RTSP, SRT, HLS, and NDI-HX. The device can record input to a USB 3.0 disk drive in MP4, TS, or MOV formats, with adjustable recording duration and content (video and audio, video only, or audio only).
Decoder Mode: When used as a decoder, it can receive streams from other VuStream 150 encoders, NDI encoders, or video files from the USB 3.0 front port. It outputs the decoded signal via HDMI 2.0.
Audio Handling: The device supports 3.5mm stereo analog audio input and output, as well as embedded HDMI audio.
Network Connectivity: It connects to the network via a 1Gb/s LAN port with Power over Ethernet (PoE) support, simplifying installation.
