6.12 Power supply and data communication on GIO5

Purpose
Power supply from connected systems, e.g. Telematics.
Telematics
The Telematics unit can be connected to the SUBSYSTEMS slot or on GIO5 (only
with TEBS E Premium).
WABCO recommendation: Connect Telematics to GIO5, so that the subsystems
plug can be used e. g. for the SmartBoard or IVTM.
A stand-by time for charging a connected battery after the ignition is turned off can
be defined via the TEBS E Diagnostic Software. In this case, the CAN bus is
switched off – or the message is sent, indicating that the vehicle was switched off –
and only the battery is charged. The time for charging corresponds to the time for
ECAS standby operation.
