5.5 Description of the components of the electropneumatic braking system
Components / Part number Application / Vehicle type Purpose/Function
TEBS E Modulator
480 102 ... 0
(Overview of variants, see chapter 12.1
‘Pneumatic ports for TEBS E’,
page 193)
All trailers Control and monitoring of the electro-
pneumatic braking system.
Side dependent control of the brake
cylinder pressures on up to three axles.
Control of ABS, RSS etc.
TEBS E Modulator with flange-mounted
Pneumatic Extension Module (PEM)
(Overview of variants, see chapter 12.1
‘Pneumatic ports for TEBS E’,
page 193)
461 513 ... 0
All trailer vehicles with air suspension Pneumatic distribution module with
integrated charging valve for the air
suspension and integrated overload
protection valve.
The PEM reduces the number of cou-
plings and simplifies the installation of
the TEBS E braking system.
EBS relay valve
480 207 001 0 (24 V)
480 207 202 0 (12 V)
On the front-/rear-axle with drawbar
trailers or additional axle with semitrail-
ers.
4S/3M systems
Control of braking pressures with sens-
ing of actual braking values.
Electrical actuation and monitoring via
TEBS E.
ABS relay valve
472 195 037 0
Additional axle on semitrailers
4S/2M+1M systems
The braking pressure produced for this
axle is not monitored with this configura-
tion.
The braking pressure of the axle con-
trolled directly by the TEBS modulator is
used as the control pressure. If the
pressure of the TEBS E Modulator is
different on either side, the greater
pressure is used by means of a Select-
High valve.
Electrical actuation (ABS function) via
TEBS E.
