5.10.5 Notebook function

Purpose
The notebook function enables the viewing of manual processing and saving for
TEBS E data (e.g. listing the installed components) or vehicle data (Service history,
e.g. rectified faults, last service date).
The data is stored in table format in the memory of the TEBS E.
Using the function
– Call up the function via the TEBS E Diagnostic Software => (Menu Tools, Note-
book).
The Notebook function does not require any additional parameter setting or ac-
tivation.
Read data
– To read data from the ECU, press the Read from ECU button.
– To read data from a prepared PC file (CSV file), press the Read from file button.
CSV file: You can create this file on your PC (using a spreadsheet program for
example).
The data must be alphanumeric (no formatting or special characters). In total, the
storage space based on the number of characters takes up approximately page of
A4, which can be divided into a maximum of 10 columns.
Editing data
– If necessary, edit the data using the TEBS E Diagnostic Software in the input
mask.
Writing data to the ECU
– To save data in the ECU, press button Write to ECU.
To save data in your PC, press button Write to file.
5.10.6 Operating data record (ODR)
Purpose
Saving variou
s data to document vehicle operation and enable conclusions to be
drawn concerning vehicle handling.
This operating data can be evaluated using the ‘ODR-Tracker’ PC analysis tool.
The operating data recorder is split into ‘Historical data’ (trip accumulator, histo-
grams) and the event recorder.
