Function Description:

The WEIDER 240 TC is a home-use weight bench designed to facilitate a variety of upper-body exercises. Its primary function is to provide a stable and adjustable platform for strength training, targeting major muscle groups. • Weight Capacity - Chest Fly Per Arm: Max 50 lbs. (23 kg).
  • Weight Capacity - Weight Carriage (Lat Tower): Max 130 lbs. (59 kg).
  • Barbell Length Recommendation: Do not use a barbell longer than 5 ft. (1.5 m).
  • Power Source: Not applicable, as this is a mechanical weight bench.

Usage Features:

  • Adjustable Backrest: The backrest (18) can be set in a declined, level, or two inclined positions, allowing for varied exercise angles. Adjustment involves removing or inserting the Backrest Support (17) into brackets on the Left and Right Uprights (6, 7).
  • Adjustable Weight Rests: The height of the Weight Rests (13) can be adjusted by removing Upright Knobs (27), moving the rests, and re-tightening the knobs into adjustment holes in the Uprights (6, 7). It is crucial to ensure both rests are at the same height.
  • Barbell Hooks: The Left Barbell Hook (51) and Right Barbell Hook (33) pivot over the barbell to secure it when adding or removing weights, reducing the risk of tipping.
  • Fly Arms: The Fly Arms (10, 11) allow for chest fly exercises. Weights (not included) can be slid onto the weight tubes, with Weight Adapters (32) used for weights with large center holes, and secured with Weight Clips (69). Bumper Knobs (50) and Fly Arm Bumpers (30) should be removed from the Uprights (6, 7) during bench press to avoid interference.
  • Leg Lever: The Leg Lever (8) enables leg exercises. Weights (not included) are placed on the Weight Tube (24), using Weight Adapters (32) if needed, and secured with Weight Clips (69). When using the leg lever, a barbell with an equal amount of weight should be placed on the weight rests to balance the bench.
  • Lat Tower: The Lat Tower (14) facilitates lat pulldown exercises. It is inserted into the Front Leg (2) and secured with the Curl Knob (28). Weights (not included) are loaded onto the Weight Carriage (15), using Weight Adapters (32) and Weight Clips (69). The Lat Bar (23) attaches to the Cable (21) with a Cable Clip (48). When not in use, the Lat Tower can be removed, and the 45mm Square Inner Cap (38) reinserted into the Front Leg (2).
  • Curl Pad: The Curl Pad (20) is used for arm curl exercises. It is attached to the Curl Post (9), which is inserted into the Front Leg (2) and secured with the Curl Knob (28). Similar to the Lat Tower, it can be removed when not in use, and the 45mm Square Inner Cap (38) reinserted.
  • Storage: The weight bench can be stored by removing weights, sliding the Lat Tower (14) onto the storage tube on the right base, and adjusting the Backrest (18) to its highest inclined position. The Frame Knob (37) and Crossbar Pin (29) are removed from their bracket, the Front Leg (2) is raised, and then the Frame Knob and Crossbar Pin are reinserted into the bracket to prevent unfolding. The Curl Post (9) or Lat Tower (14) can be stored on the storage tube when not in use.

Maintenance Features:

  • Regular Inspection: All parts should be inspected and properly tightened regularly.
  • Part Replacement: Any worn parts must be replaced immediately to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Cleaning: The weight bench can be cleaned with a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive detergent. Solvents should not be used for cleaning.
  • Grease Application: Grease is applied during assembly to specific bolts and barrels (e.g., M10 x 70mm Bolt, M10 x 54mm Bolt Set, M10 x 130mm Bolt, M10 x 170mm Bolt) to ensure smooth operation of moving parts.
  • Hardware Kit: The manual includes a PART IDENTIFICATION CHART and EXPLODED DRAWING to assist with identifying and ordering replacement parts. Users are advised to provide the model number, serial number, product name, and key number/description of the part when contacting for replacements.
