6. Hygienic preparation
Whenever MEDUMAT Standard and accessories
have been used, they must undergo a hygienic prep-
aration. Observe the instructions regarding use of
disinfectant. We recommend gigasept
®
FF (new) for
disinfecting by immersion and terralin
®
protect for
disinfecting by wiping.
Make sure you perform a functional check after eve-
ry hygienic preparation (note “7. Functional checks“
on page 39).
This product may contain disposable items. Disposa-
ble items are intended to be used only once. So use
these items only once and do
not reprocess them.
Reprocessing disposable items may impair the func-
tionality and safety of the product and lead to un-
foreseeable reactions as a result of ageing,
embrittlement, wear, thermal load, the effects of
chemical processes, etc.
6.1 MEDUMAT Standard
MEDUMAT Standard’s outer casing simply needs to
be wiped with a dry or damp cloth.
Never immerse MEDUMAT Standard in disinfectant
or other fluids. Just wipe over with disinfectant. Oth-
erwise damage may be caused to the device, thus
endangering users and patients (note “6.6 Cleaning,
disinfecting and sterilizing“ on page 37).
