1.3 The Left Panel of the Sonic
What you need to know:
This panel is the top right panel (just above the grey volume drawbars and DVD / Blu-Ray drive). This
panel controls the Sound Effects, Accompaniment Selection, Sound to Style Controls, Global Manual
Controls for turning sounds on and off as well as a bank of 10 Total Preset (Registration buttons) as
well as bank up and down controls.
Effect-Sounds - 6 Programmable Effect Buttons for triggering SFX Sounds.
Accompaniments - 14 Buttons that contain the different accompaniments that you can instantly
access.
Accompaniments include the following:
STYLES - A style is an accompaniment consisting of 8 musical ‘tracks’ and a further 16 ‘patterns’ per
The 8 tracks consist of 2 Drum tracks, 1 Bass track and 5 ‘band’ tracks. A style also uses the WERSI
Longwave Digital Drum Kits (made up of multi-layer dynamic samples).
REALDRUMS - A Realdrum is a ‘Style’ (Audio-Style) with an Audio Drummer recording that replaces
the Digital Drum Kits. The Realdrum also has 8 tracks of auto accompaniment. The newly created ‘Son-
PLEASE NOTE: Some of the Realdrums from the popular OAS 7 instrument line that are included with
the Sonic only contain 4 x Variaitons, 2 x breaks and 2 x intro / endings.
MIDI - Standard MIDI Files type 0 and type 1 are naturally accepted by the Sonic. The new Sonic also
AUDIO - Naturally the Sonic allows you to play both WAV and MP3 accompaniments.
