WERSI SONIC USER MANUAL
1.4 The Right Panel of the Sonic
What you need to know:
The right side panel features the buttons that control the Transposer, Tempo Wheel, Drawbar Function
buttons and the Sound Selection buttons.
TEMPO / DATA WHEEL - The Tempo / Data wheel allows you to change the Tempo or an accompa-
niment as well as change the data settings and values of different functions, as explained later in this
User Manual.
Transposer - The transposer allows you to ‘transpose’ the key that your Sonic will ‘play’ in. Increases
are in semitones. You can move through the respective keys in a cycle. Press the ‘Normal’ button to re-
turn to the key of C. (Please note: As of September 2014, the LED’s in the three buttons do not light
up currently. This will be corrected in a future software release).
Live Controls
OVERDRIVE - This button turns on / off the Organ / Drawbar Overdrive effect. This is a popular ‘tube
distortion’ type effect used by popular prog-rock type musicians.
KEYCLICK - This button turns on / off the Keyclick effect on the Live Drawbar sounds.
PERC ON - This activates the Percussion effect.
2nd / 3rd - This activates either the 2nd percussion footage or the 3rd percussion footage (harmonic).
VIBRATO - This button allows you to activate the Vibrato effect of the drawbar section. This is the
effect that is the closest to the historical WERSI-Voice effect.
ROTOR - This button activates the rotor effect. The Rotor effect allows you to control the ‘Leslie’ effect
of the drawbars. Use the ‘Rotor’ button in the ACC Rhythm Control section to speed up or slow down
the rotor effect when the Rotor button is activated.
The WERSI Live Drawbars consist of the WERSI Edition VB3 (Hammond Clone) as well as the new
Vintage WERSI plugin that simulates the WERSI Galaxy and WERSI Spectra using pure sine sam-
ples taken directly form a real WERSI Galaxy and Spectra organs respectively. This super emu-
lation of the Vintage WERSI is currently in development and will be released for the Sonic in a
future software update.
