4.1.5 Attached accessories
Float switch
The A version of the pump is fitted with a float switch.
The float switch makes it possible to switch the pump
on and off automatically depending on the fluid level.
Plug
In the P and A versions, AC motors have a shockproof
plug and three-phase motors have a CEE plug attached.
The plug is designed for use in commercially available
shock-proof or CEE sockets and is not overflow-proof.
4.2 Monitoring devices
Monitoring the motor winding
The thermal motor monitor protects the motor winding
from overheating. A temperature limit with bimetallic
strip is built-in as standard.
For AC motors the thermal motor monitoring is auto-
switching. This means that the motor is switched off
when it overheats and is automatically switched back
on after it cools down.
For three-phase motors the thermal motor monitoring
must be connected into the switchgear or plug.
4.3 Operating modes
Operating mode S1: Continuous duty
The pump can operate continuously at the rated load
without exceeding the permissible temperature.
Operating mode S2: Short-time duty
The maximum operating period is specified in minutes,
e.g. S2-15. The pause must last until the machine tem-
perature is no more than 2K away from the tempera-
ture of the coolant.
Operating mode S3: Intermittent periodic duty
This operating mode defines a switching cycle at the
ratio of operating time and standstill time. The given
value (e.g. S3 25%) refers to the operation time. The
switching cycle has a duration of 10min.
If two values are given (e.g. S3 25%/120s), the first
value refers to the operation time. The second value in-
dicates the maximum time of the switching cycle.
4.4 Operation with frequency converter
Operation on a frequency converter is not permissible.
4.5 Operation in an explosive atmosphere
Operation in an explosive atmosphere is not permissi-
ble.
