Installation and operating instructions Wilo-Rexa UNI 19
ommended to set the motor protection switch to 5%
above the measured current in the duty point. Further-
more, observe the following points:
▪Current consumption must always be lower than the
rated current.
▪Complete starting and stopping within 30s.
▪To avoid power dissipation, bypass the electronic
starter (soft start) once normal operation is reached.
6.5.7 Operation with frequency converter
Operation on a frequency converter is not permissible.

WARNING
Foot injuries due to lack of protective equip-
ment!
During work there is a risk of (serious) injury. Wear
safety shoes!
7.1 Personnel qualifications
▪Electrical work: A qualified electrician (in accordance
with EN50110-1) must carry out the electrical work.
▪Operation/control: Operating personnel must be
trained in the operating principle of the complete sys-
tem.
7.2 Operator’s obligations
▪Provision of the 'Installation and operating instructions'
at the pump or at a place designated for these.
▪Provision of the 'Installation and operating instructions'
in the language of the personnel.
▪Ensure that all personnel have read and understood the
'Installation and operating instructions'.
▪All system safety devices and emergency cut-outs are
active and have been checked to ensure that they work
properly.
▪The pump is suitable for use under the specified oper-
ating conditions.
7.3 Direction of rotation check (only for three-phase
current motors)
At the factory the pump is checked and set to the cor-
rect direction of rotation for a clockwise rotating field.
The connection is made according to the information in
the “Electrical connection” section.
Checking the direction of rotation
A qualified electrician checks the rotating field on the
mains connection with a rotating field test device. For
the correct direction of rotation, a clockwise rotating
field on the mains connection must be present. The
pump is not approved for operation with a counter-
clockwise rotating field! CAUTION!If the direction of
rotation is checked with a test run, adhere to the en-
vironmental and operating conditions!
Incorrect direction of rotation
If the direction of rotation is incorrect change the con-
nection as follows:
▪For motors in direct starting swap two phases.
▪For star-delta activation motors swap the connections
of two windings (e.g. U1/V1 and U2/V2).
7.4 Before switching on
Before switching on check the following points:
▪Check installation for workmanship which is proper and
according to the locally applicable regulations:
– Pump earthed?
– Has the routing of the power supply cable been
checked?
– Has the electrical connection been carried out in line
with the regulations?
– Are mechanical components correctly attached?
▪Check the level control device:
– Can float switches move freely?
– Have switching levels been checked (pump on, pump
off, minimum water level)?
– Has additional dry-running protection been in-
stalled?
▪Check operating conditions:
– Has the min./max. temperature of the fluid been
checked?
– Has the maximum immersion depth been checked?
– Has the operating mode depending on the minimum
water level been defined?
– Is the maximum switching frequency being adhered
to?
▪Check installation site/operating space:
– Is the pipe system on the pressure side free of de-
posits?
– Has the inlet or pump sump been cleaned and is free
of deposits?
– Are all gate valves open?
– Has the minimum water level been defined and mon-
itored?
The hydraulics housing must be completely filled
with fluid and there must be no air cushions in the
hydraulics. NOTICE!If there is a danger of air cush-
ions in the system, provide suitable venting de-
vices!
