en-US Installation and electrical connection
12 WILO SE 2017-03
▪Use lifting equipment with sufficient bearing capacity.
▪The standard safety of the lifting equipment must be
guaranteed during application.
▪When using lifting equipment, get a second person to
coordinate the procedure if necessary (e.g. blocked vis-
ibility).
5.3 Storage
DANGER
Danger due to fluids which are dangerous to
health!
When the pump is used in fluids which are danger-
ous to health, decontaminate the pump after re-
moval and before all work! There is a risk of fatal in-
jury! Observe information from the work regula-
tions! The operator must ensure that the personnel
have received and read the work regulations!
WARNING
Sharp edges on the impeller and suction port!
Sharp edges can form on the impeller and suction
port. There is a danger of limbs being cut off! Pro-
tective gloves must be worn against cutting injuries.
CAUTION
Total loss due to moisture penetration
Moisture penetration in the power supply cable
damages the power supply cable and the pump!
Never immerse the end of the power supply cable in
a liquid and tightly seal during storage.
Newly delivered pumps can be stored for a year. Re-
garding storage for more than one year contact cus-
tomer service.
Observe the following points regarding storage:
▪Place the pump securely on a firm foundation. Store
pumps with pump support foot upright and pumps
without pump support foot horizontally. Secure pump
from falling over and slipping!
▪The maximum storage temperature is -15°C to +60°C
at a maximum air humidity of 90%, non-condensing.
Frost-protected storage with a temperature between
5°C and 25°C and a relative air humidity of 40 to 50%
is recommended.
▪Do not store the pumps in rooms in which welding
works are carried out. The resulting gases or radiations
could corrode the elastomer parts and coatings.
▪Tightly seal suction and pressure connection.
▪Protect power supply cable against kinking and dam-
age.
▪Protect pump from direct sunlight and heat. Extreme
heat may lead to damage to the impellers and coating!
▪Rotate the impellers by 180° at regular intervals (3–
6months). This prevents jamming of the bearings and
it renews the film of lubrication on the mechanical seal.
WARNING!There is a danger of injury due to sharp
edges on the impeller and suction port!
▪The elastomer parts and coatings become brittle over
time. When stored for more than 6months, customer
service must be consulted.
Following storage, clean the dust and oil from the
pump and check the coating for damage. Repair dam-
aged coatings before further use.
6 Installation and electrical connection
6.1 Personnel qualifications
▪Electrical work: A qualified electrician (in accordance
with EN50110-1) must carry out the electrical work.
▪Installation-/dismantling work: The technician must be
trained to handle the necessary tools and required fas-
tening materials for the present building site.
6.2 Installation methods
▪Vertical stationary wet well installation with guide sys-
tem
▪Vertical portable wet well installation with pump sup-
port foot
The following installation methods are not permissible:
▪Dry well installation
▪Horizontal installation
6.3 Operator’s obligations
▪Locally applicable accident prevention and trade asso-
ciation safety provisions must be observed.
▪Observe all regulations for working with and under-
neath heavy suspended loads.
▪Make available protective equipment and ensure that
the personnel wear the protective equipment.
▪Observe the local regulations of sewage technology for
the operation of sewage systems.
▪Avoid pressure surges!
Pressure surges may arise in long discharge pipes with
pronounced route profile. These pressure surges could
lead to pump destruction!
▪Depending on the operating conditions and the pump
chamber size ensure the cooling time of the motor.
