Fault
findings
—
causes
and
remedies
8.1
Motor
is switched
on
but
fails to
run:
— Check
elctric
fuses,
— Check
voltage
at
pump
terminals
(Observe
name
plate
data).
— Thermal
overload
protection
has
tripped
and
the
right
hand red FAULT
signal
light
(Fig.
1,
Item
2) is
illuminated.
After the
winding
temperature
has
returned to
normal,
the
trip
device
can be
manually reset
by
pressing
the
reset
button
(Fig.
1,
Item 3).
— Rotor
is
jammed: e.g.
caused
by
impurities
in
the
water.
Action:
Remove
vent
plug
(Fig.
1, Item 5) to
check
and
free
rotor
by
rotating
the pump
shaff by
means
of
a
screwdriver.
/\_ At high
fluid
temperatures
and system
pressures
wait
for
the
pump to
cool
down
and
dose
isolating
valves at
both
pump
ports.
Danger
of
scalding!
8.2 Noisy pump
Operation
— Caused
by
cavitation
due to
insufficient inlet
pressure.
—Action: lncrease
system
pressure
within the
permissible
limits.
— Check
speed
setting:
if
necessary,
switch to
lower setting.

fault
cannot be

or
rectified,
please
contact
your
