What to do if my X-Rite DigiMatch PPG show measurement error?
    • V
      vaughannathanielAug 3, 2025
If your device shows measurement errors or inaccurate results, it could be due to several reasons. First, the material being measured might be damaged; try repeating the measurement. Second, the calibration might have been performed on a dirty white tile or camera test target; clean the calibration reference and repeat the calibration. The device itself might require calibration; perform a health check and calibration on the calibration reference. If these steps fail, the device might be defective, and you should contact technical support.

If the calibration procedure fails, it could be due to device movement or a dirty white tile. Try measuring the white tile and camera test target again. If the error persists, clean the white tile and camera test target as explained in the Appendices. If the issue continues, check the battery status, reset the device by holding the Measure Power On/Off button for 10 seconds, and then repeat the calibration.

If your device and the software aren't communicating via USB, first ensure the USB cable is properly connected between the computer and the device. If it is, the USB cable might be defective, so try exchanging it. If the issue persists, unplug the USB cable, wait one second, and reconnect it. If communication still fails, close and restart the software, then restart the device. As a last resort, reboot the computer.
