Flow Cell
Maintenance
ere are two versions of the EXO ow cell: EXO1 ow cell (#599080) and EXO2 ow cell (#599201). Flow
rate of the ow cell is typically between 100 mL and 1 L per minute. Maximum ow rate depends on tubing
type, size, and length. Maximum pressure for each is 25 psi.
1 Disassemble flow cell.
To clean the ow cell aer use, unscrew and remove the
sonde from the ow cell.
Take apart the ow cell by unscrewing the base from the
locking ring. Remove the ow cell tube by gently pulling
the base and the tube apart. e locking ring will remain on
the tube due to the stainless steel retaining ring.
Repeat the same steps to remove the top of the ow cell
from the ow cell tube.
2 Clean flow cell.
Use water and a mild detergent and water to wipe clean the
ow cell parts.
3 Reassemble flow cell.
Make sure that the o-rings and threads are clean and free of
any particles such as sand, grit, or debris. Apply a thin coat
of o-ring grease or Vaseline to the two o-rings on the ow
cell tube.
Make sure that the o-rings and stainless steel retaining
rings are properly seated on the ow cell tube. Push the
base of the ow cell onto the ow cell tube until it is rmly
seated. is creates the watertight seal.
Screw the locking ring on to the base by turning it
clockwise; do not use a tool and do not overtighten.
Repeat same steps to reconnect the top of the ow cell to
the ow cell tube.
