This manual has been provided for the use of authorized YAMAHA Retailers and their service personnel.
It has been assumed that basic service procedures inherant to the industry, and more specifically YAMAHA Products, are already known and
understood by the users, and have therefore not been restated.
WARNING: Failure to follow appropriate service and safety procedures when servicing this product may result in personal injury,
destruction of expensive components and failure of the product to perform as specified. For these reasons, we advise all
YAMAHA product owners that all service required should be performed by an authorized YAMAHA Retailer or the
appointed service representative.
IMPORTANT: The presentation or sale of this manual to any individual or firm does not constitute authorization, certification or
recognition of any applicable technical capabilities, or establish a principle-agent relationship of any form.
The data provided is believed to be accurate and applicable to the unit(s) indicated on the cover. The research, engineering, and service
departments of YAMAHA are continually striving to improve YAMAHA products. Modifications are, therefore, inevitable and specifications
are subject to change without notice or obligation to retrofit. Should any discrepancy appear to exist, please contact the distributor's Service
Division.
WARNING: Static discharges can destroy expensive components. Discharge any static electricity your body may have accumulated by
grounding yourself to the ground buss in the unit (heavy gauge black wires connect to this buss).
IMPORTANT: Turn the unit OFF during disassembly and parts replacement. Recheck all work before you apply power to the unit.

Why won't my Yamaha DSP-E800 Amplifier turn on?
    • C
      Cathy MonroeAug 19, 2025
If your Yamaha Amplifier fails to power on or enters standby mode shortly after being turned on, there are a couple of things to check. First, ensure that the power cord is firmly connected to both the unit and the power outlet. Second, verify that the IMPEDANCE SELECTOR switch on the rear panel is fully set to either the right or left position while the unit is in standby mode.

Why Yamaha DSP-E800 remote control is not working?
    • T
      Teresa WilliamsAug 21, 2025
If the remote control for your Yamaha Amplifier isn't working, first check if direct sunlight or strong lighting is interfering with the unit's remote control sensor; if so, reposition the unit. Also, check the batteries and replace them with new ones if they are weak.

Why does the sound suddenly go off on my Yamaha Amplifier?
    • B
      benjamin75Aug 25, 2025
If the sound suddenly cuts off on your Yamaha Amplifier, it could be due to the activation of the protection circuit because of a short circuit. Set the unit to standby mode and then turn it back on to reset the protection circuit. Alternatively, the SLEEP timer may have activated. In this case, simply turn the power back on and play the source again.

Why is there no sound from the rear speakers on my Yamaha DSP-E800 Amplifier?
    • S
      Susan ShawAug 26, 2025
If you're not getting any sound from the rear speakers on your Yamaha Amplifier, first ensure that the output level of the rear speakers is not set to minimum; if it is, raise the output level. Also, if you are playing a monaural source with the PRO LOGIC/Normal or PRO LOGIC/ENHANCED program, select another DSP program that is more suitable for a monaural source.

What to do if there is no sound or picture on my Yamaha Amplifier?
    • M
      Michael HubbardAug 28, 2025
If you're experiencing a lack of sound or picture with your Yamaha Amplifier, several factors could be responsible. First, verify that all input and output cables are correctly connected; if the issue remains, the cables themselves might be faulty. Ensure that you have selected the appropriate input source using the INPUT SELECTOR or TAPE/MD MON / 6CH INPUT. Check the speaker connections to confirm they are secure. Finally, make sure the sound isn't muted by checking the VOLUME setting and pressing MUTING to cancel any mute settings.

What to do if my Yamaha DSP-E800 Amplifier does not work normally?
    • K
      Kenneth RobersonAug 30, 2025
If your Yamaha Amplifier isn't working normally, it's possible the internal microcomputer has frozen due to an external electric shock or a power supply with low voltage. To resolve this, set the unit to standby mode, disconnect the AC power cord from the outlet, wait about 30 seconds, then reconnect the power and try operating the unit again.

Why is there no sound from the center speaker on my Yamaha DSP-E800?
    • A
      alexandramillerSep 2, 2025
If there is no sound coming from the center speaker of your Yamaha Amplifier, first check that the sound output level of the center speaker is not set to minimum and raise the level if needed. Also, verify that “CENTER SP” on the SET MENU is set to either the LRG or SML position, not NONE. Finally, ensure that you have selected the appropriate DSP program.

How to fix a humming sound from my Yamaha DSP-E800 Amplifier?
    • N
      nicolewilkinsSep 4, 2025
If you hear a humming sound from your Yamaha Amplifier, it may be due to incorrect cable connections. Ensure that the audio plugs are firmly connected. If the problem persists, the cables might be defective.

    • D
      Daniel JohnsonSep 7, 2025
If you can only hear sound from one speaker connected to your Yamaha Amplifier, it's likely due to incorrect cable connections. Double-check and ensure that all cables are properly connected. If the problem continues, the cables themselves may be defective.
