Main
Adjuster Adjustment:
The main adjusting-screw
is
used
to
adjust the air-fuel
mixture
when the
snowmobi
le runs at high-speed. Adjust-
m
ent
s
hould
be made
so
that
the
mixture
becomes
as
rich
as
possible, provided
that
the engine still runs
smoothly.

to
prevent engi ne overheating.}

following
steps:
1.
First,
ba
ck
out
th
e main adjusting screw
as
specified.
2. To adjust the main adjusting
sc
rews, run the snow-
mobile at high-
spee
d and
find
the range
of
setting
positions (number
of
turns out )
at
which
the engine
runs clea
nly.
Set
the
ma
in adjusti
ng
screw to a
position
wher
e the richest practical mi
xtu
re
is
ob
tained.
For
this adjustmen
t,
the ma
in
adjusting
screw shou
Id
be turned 1 /8 turn or
le
ss
eac
h ti me.
3.
To
test the engine,
qui
ckly bring
the
throttle
shutter to
fu
I I-open
from
idlin
g pos
it
ion and acceleration the
sno
wmobile
. Then,
wat
ch
the performance
of
engine
operation.
4.
After
running
at
high-speed, check the spark plug
for
colo
ration
for
an
indication
of
ca
rburetor
mixture.
5. Run the snowmobile at high-speed, and test
if
th
e
engine
wi
11
pick up
spee
d
smoot
hly.
Repeat the
adjustments
as
specified
in
1-2
if
necessary.
Note:
When the
snowmobile
is
used
under
seve
re
condit
ions
the
foll
ow
ing
spa
rk
pl ugs may
be
se
lected:

Adjusting the
throttle
shutter opening.
With
two
carburetors, the
throttle
shutters
must
be
so
adjusted
that
both
are
the
same
in
opening.
To adjust
the
throttle
shutters,
follow
the steps
as
specified
below.
