CALIFORNIA EMISSION CONTROL WARRANTY STATEMENT
YOUR WARRANTY RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS
TheCaliforniaAir ResourcesBoardandMTDConsumerGroupIncare pleasedtoexplaintheevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemwarrantyonyour 2006 lawn
mower.InCalifornia,new lawnmowermust bedesigned,builtand equippedto meet theState'sstringentanti-smogstandards.MTDConsumerGroupInc must
warrantthe EECSon yourlawn mowerfor the periodof time listedbelowprovidedthere hasbeenno abuse,neglector impropermaintenanceofyour lawnmower.
YourEECSmayincludepartssuchas thecarburetor,fuel-injectionsystem,the ignitionsystem,catalyticconverter,fueltanks,fuel lines,fuelcaps,valves,
canisters,filters,vaporhoses,clamps,connectors,and otherassociatedemission-relatedcomponents.
Where a warrantable condition exists, MTDConsumer Group Inc will repair your lawn mower at no cost to you includingdiagnosis, parts and labor.
MANUFACTURER'S WARRANTY COVERAGE:
Thisevaporativeemissioncontrolsystemiswarrantedfor two years.If anyevaporativeemission-relatedparton yourequipmentisdefective,the partwill be
repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc.
OWNER'S WARRANTY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Asthe lawn mowerowner,youare responsiblefor performanceof the requiredmaintenancelistedin yourowner'smanual. MTDConsumerGroupIncrecom-
mendsthat youretainall receiptscoveringmaintenanceonyour lawnmower,but MTDConsumerGroup Inccannotdenywarrantysolelyforthe lack ofreceipts.
Asthe lawn mowerowner,youshouldhoweverbeawarethat MTDConsumerGroupInc maydeny youwarrantycoverageif yourlawnmoweror aparthasfailed
dueto abuse,neglect,orimpropermaintenanceor unapprovedmodifications.
Youare responsiblefor presentingyourlawn mowerto MTDConsumerGroupInc'sdistributioncenteror servicecenteras soonas the problemexists.The
warrantyrepairsshouldbecompletedin a reasonableamountoftime, notto exceed30 days.If youhavea questionregardingyour warrantycoverage,youshould
contactthe MTDConsumerGroupIncService Departmentat 1-800-800-7310.
GENERAL EMISSIONS WARRANTY COVERAGE:
MTDConsumerGroupIncwarrantstothe ultimatepurchaserand eachsubsequentpurchaserthat the lawnmoweris:Designed,built andequippedsoas to
conformwithall applicableregulations;andfreefrom defectsin materialsand workmanshipthat causethe failureof a warrantedpartto beidenticalin allmaterial
respectstothat partas describedin MTDConsumerGroupInc'sapplicationfor certification.
Thewarrantyperiodbeginsonthedate the lawnmoweris deliveredtoan ultimatepurchaseror firstplaced intoservice.Thewarrantyperiodistwo years.
Subjecttocertainconditionsand exclusionsas statedbelow,the warrantyonemission-relatedpartsisas follows:
1. Anywarrantedpartthat isnotscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenanceinthe writteninstructionssupplied,iswarrantedfor thewarrantyperiod
statedabove.Ifthe partfails duringthe periodof warrantycoverage,the partwillbe repairedor replacedby MTDConsumerGroupInc accordingto subsection
(4)below.Anysuchpart repairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbe warrantedfor the remainderofthe period.
2. Anywarrantedpartthat isscheduledonlyfor regularinspectioninthe writteninstructionssupplied is warrantedfor thewarranty periodstatedabove.Any such
partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywill bewarrantedfor the remainingwarrantyperiod.
3. Anywarrantedpartthat isscheduledfor replacementas requiredmaintenancein thewritten instructionssuppliedis warrantedforthe periodof time beforethe
firstscheduledreplacementdatefor that part.If the partfails beforethe firstscheduledreplacement,the partwillbe repairedor replacedby MTDConsumer
GroupInc accordingto subsection(4)below.Anysuch partrepairedor replacedunderwarrantywillbewarrantedforthe remainderof the periodpriorto the
firstscheduledreplacementpointfor the part.
4. Repairor replacementofanywarrantedpart underthe warrantyprovisionshereinmustbeperformedat a warrantystationatno chargetotheowner.
5. Notwithstandingthe provisionsherein,warrantyservicesorrepairswill beprovidedatall ofour distributioncentersthat arefranchisedtoservicethe subject
enginesor equipment.
6. Thelawnmowerownerwillnot bechargedfor diagnosticlaborthat is directlyassociatedwithdiagnosisofa defective,emission-relatedwarrantedpart,
providedthat suchdiagnosticworkis performedat a warrantystation.
7. MTDConsumerGroupInc isliablefor damagestootherengineor equipmentcomponentsproximatelycausedby a failureunderwarrantyof anywarranted
part.
8. Throughoutthe lawnmowerwarrantyperiodstated above,MTDConsumerGroupIncwill maintaina supplyof warrantedpartssufficientto meetthe expected
demandfor suchparts.
9. Anyreplacementpart maybe usedinthe performanceof anywarrantymaintenanceorrepairsand mustbe providedwithoutchargeto the owner.Suchusewill
notreducethe warrantyobligationsofMTDConsumerGroupInc.
10.Add-onor modifiedpartsthat are notexemptedbythe Air ResourcesBoardmaynot beused.Theuseof any non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedparts by the
ultimatepurchaserwillbegroundsfor disallowinga warrantyclaims.MTDConsumerGroup Incwill notbe liabletowarrantfailuresof warrantedparts caused
bythe useof a non-exemptedadd-onor modifiedpart.
WARRANTED PARTS:
Therepairor replacementof anywarrantedpartotherwiseeligiblefor warrantycoveragemaybeexcludedfromsuchwarrantycoverageifMTDConsumerGroup
Incdemonstratesthat the lawnmowerhasbeenabused,neglected,or improperlymaintained,andthat suchabuse,neglect,or impropermaintenancewasthe
directcauseof the needfor repairor replacementofthe part.Thatnotwithstanding,anyadjustmentofa componentthathasa factory installed,and properly
operating,adjustmentlimitingdeviceis still eligiblefor warrantycoverage.Thefollowingemissionwarrantypartslist arecovered: FuelLine,Fuel LineClamps
