3.2.6.c Opera ng hours counter
Ei² Expert can count its total opera ng hours (= chlorine produc on me, displayed in days). This informa on
may be useful to determine the age of the electrode. The value is provided for informa on only and may be
modi ed.
From the home screen, press the
and bu ons for 5 seconds.
The number of opera ng hours is displayed at the bo om right of the screen.
Press the
bu on to return to the home screen.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Washing the pool  lter (backwash)
The appliance must be switched o when washing the lter. When the appliance is on ( ltra on on), press
the
bu on for 5 seconds to switch it o .
A er cleaning the lter, switch the appliance on again by pressing the
bu on (press and release). It will
resume normal opera on (produc on slaved to  ltra on for Ei² and GenSalt OE).
For Ei² Expert, produc on will occur as per the  mer se ngs.
The manufacturer cannot be held liable in case of incorrect handling.
4.2 Cleaning the electrode
The appliance is equipped with a smart polarity inversion system designed to prevent the electrode plates from
scaling. However cleaning may be required in regions where the water is very hard.
Turn o the chlorinator and the ltering system, close the isola on valves, remove the protec on cover and disconnect
the cell power cable.
Unscrew the  ghtening ring and remove the cell. The ring is crenelated thus allowing a lever to be used in the event of
it jamming. Place the cell backwards and  ll it with a cleaning solu on so that the electrode plates are immersed.
Leave the cleaning solu on to dissolve the scale deposit for about 15 minutes. Dispose of the cleaning solu on at an
approved waste recycling site, never pour into the rainwater drainage system or into the sewers.
Rinse the electrode using clean water and put it back on the cell xture collar (there is a foolproof marker to ensure
correct alignment).
Re t the ghtening ring, reconnect the cell cable and re t the protec ve cover. Open the isola on valves and restart
the  ltering system and chlorinator.
If you do not use a commercially available cleaning solu on, you can manufacture it yourself by carefully
mixing 1 volume of hydrochloric acid with 9 volumes of water (Warning: always pour the acid into the water
and not the opposite and wear suitable protec ve equipment!).
Make sure that the se ng of the polarity inversion cycles is adapted to the pool's water hardness. See
“3.2.6.b Polarity inversion” to change them.
4.3 Winterising
The chlorinator has a protec ve system to limit chlorine produc on under bad opera ng condi ons such as cold
water (winter) or a lack of salt.
Ac ve winterising =  ltering opera onal in winter: below 10 °C it is preferable to switch o the chlorinator. Above this
temperature you can leave it running.
Passive winterising = lower water level and drained piping: leave the electrode dry in its cell with its isola on valves
open.
