13.1SQAOverview
ServiceQualityAnalyzer(SQA)isameasureddetectiontechnology.ThroughSQA,users
canobtainmoredetailednetworkqualityanalysisatIPlayer,andcanalsocheckwhether
thenetworkqualityofaspecicservicemeetstherequirementofServiceLevelAgreement
(SLA).ThefunctionsofSQAarelistedbelow.
lUserscanknowthenetworkperformancequicklyandthentakecorresponding
measurementsaccordingtodifferentnetworkperformances.
lUserscanuseSQAtodiagnoseandlocatenetworkfaults,especiallyforQoSfaults
ofsomeapplications.
lSQAsupportslinkageofsomeprotocols.Forexample,whenthequalityofanetwork
worsenstosomeextent,SQAcanenablelinkagewithpolicyrouting.
Normally,SQAisusedtodiagnosenetworkfaults.
Forexample,onamobileIPbearernetwork,whenthequalityofphonecallsdeclines
seriously,itisnecessarytocheckwhetherthereisseriousvoicepacketloss,delayand
oscillationatthewirelessnetworksideandIPbearernetworksideatthesametime.Atthe
IPbearernetworkside,itisnecessarytocheckwhetherthereisanyseriousnetworkfault
forthetransmissionofIPpacketsbetweenCEs.Atthesametime,itisalsonecessary
tousetheparameters(suchasUDPpacketoscillationanddelay)ofSQAtodetermine
whetherthefaultisonthebearernetworkside.
SQAcanalsobeusedtodetectthenetworkqualitiesofoperatorsperiodicallytoreectthe
networkqualitiesinrealtime,sothatoperatorscanmastertheoverallnetworkqualities.
