2.4 Performing a Blood Sugar Test
Before you perform your rst blood test, ensure the meter is set up correctly and that you perform a control
test. You need a coded meter, a test strip, and a lancing device.
w WARNINGS:
• Do not change your treatment because of one blood sugar test result.
• NEVER ignore symptoms of high or low blood sugar.
i NOTE:
If you need to perform a control test, only use ACCU-CHEK Aviva control solutions. See Chapter 3, “Control
Testing” for more information about control testing.
