3.2 Why Perform Control Tests
Performing a control test lets you know the meter and test strips are working properly to give reliable blood
sugar test results. You should perform a control test when:
You open a new box of test strips.
You left the test strip container open.
You want to check the meter and test strips.
Your test strips were stored in extreme temperatures and/or humidity.
You dropped the meter.
Your test result does not agree with how you feel.
You want to check if you are testing correctly.
