Prepare and Fill the Cartridge
Have the following materials ready:
• insulin at room-temperature to minimize
the formation of air bubbles
• new ACCU-CHEK 3.15 ml plastic cartridge with
protective cap, plunger rod, and fi lling needle
• antiseptic wipe.
CAUTION: Never reuse a cartridge! This can cause infection and occlusions, and can
drain your pump’s battery.
Step 1: Wash your hands.
Step 2: Set the insulin vial on a hard surface, such as a table.
Step 3: Use the antiseptic wipe to clean the rubber membrane on the vial.
Step 4: Remove the cartridge, the cartridge protective cap, and the fi lling needle with
its protective cap, from their packaging.
