10 Restart SpectrAA to save the configuration settings.
11 Go to the next section ‘Configuring the IEEE addresses for Agilent AA-DUO
operation’.
Configuring the IEEE addresses for Agilent AA-DUO operation
If you are running an Agilent AA-DUO system, you must reconfigure one of the
instruments so they have different IEEE addresses. Agilent 55B AA instruments
should have a default IEEE address of 1. Agilent 240FS AA, 240Z AA, 280FS AA
and 280Z AA instruments should have a default IEEE address of 9. Because 55B
AA’s must be Instrument #1 in the configuration dialog, Instrument #2 will always
have a default IEEE of 9. It is important not to change the IEEE address of a 55B
AA as it may cause conflicts with the inbuilt computer.
1 Close SpectrAA if it is open.
2 Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Agilent\sp100\Run and then double-click
DUAL.EXE. Click
OK to start the program.
3 A window appears asking you to turn on the instrument you wish to
reconfigure. You must select ‘Instrument #2’ in the configuration. Switch on
Instrument #2 and then click
OK.
Do not turn on the Instrument #1.
A command window is displayed. The process may take about a minute.
During this time, you will hear the instrument resetting.
Once the process is complete, a message appears in the command window
saying ‘Addr changed from 9 to 8. Press any key to continue…’
If this message does not appear, continue the procedure below. If it does
appear, you have completed the setup.
4 In the search field type cmd.exe. Select cmd.exe from the list that appears.
5 Turn on Instrument #1 and Instrument #2, if not on.
6 Choose one of the following options:
For a Duo system with a 55B AA:
Type: CD C:\Program Files (x86)\Agilent\SP100\Run\ and then press
Enter.
Type: setaddr.exe –q1:8 and then press
Enter.
For a Duo system without a 55B AA:
Type: CD C:\Program Files (x86)\Agilent\SP100\Run\ and then press
