2 Features and Functions
AC Filter
This feature applies to ac voltage, ac current, frequency and period
measurements only.
The multimeter provides three choices of bandwidth (ac signal filter),
enabling you to optimize low–frequency accuracy or achieve faster ac
settling times. Set the bandwidth for the lowest frequency you expect to
encounter, noting that a lower bandwidth results in longer settling times.
The three filters, and their corresponding settling times, are shown below:
• Front Panel Operation: After selecting either the AC V or AC I function,
press to display AC FILTER. with the current setting on the
secondary display line. Press or to select 3 HZ: SLOW, 20 HZ:
MEDIUM, or 200 HZ: FAST, then press . Then step through or exit the
configuration menu.
• Remote Interface Operation: The following commands set the ac filter (3, 20
or 200 Hz) for ac measurements:
[SENSe:]VOLTage:AC:BANDwidth {<filter>>MIN>MAX>DEF}
[SENSe:]CURRent:AC:BANDwidth {<filter>>MIN>MAX>DEF}
The following commands query the filter setting:
[SENSe:]VOLTage:AC:BANDwidth? [{MIN>MAX}]
[SENSe:]CURRent:AC:BANDwidth? [{MIN>MAX}]
