SECTION IV PERFORMANCE TESTS
4-1. INTRODUCTION
4-2. This section contains a performance test for the HP 5517B Laser Head. A test record is included to record test
results for future comparison.
4-3. RECOMMENDED TEST EQUIPMENT
4-4. Test equipment requirements are included in the following procedure. Detailed critical specifications for the
required test equipment are contained in
Table 1-2,
Recommended Test Equipment. Any equipment that satisfies
the critical specifications given in the table may he substituted for the recommended model(s).
4-5. TEST RECORD
4-6. Results of the performance test maybe tabulated on the test record at the end of these procedures.
4-7. HP 5517B PERFORMANCE TEST
4-8. The HP 5517B performance test consists of measuring the 5517B input voltages and laser power output.
4-9. Input Voltage Check
CAUTION
ALWAYS REMOVE POWER FROM THE LASER HEAD PRIOR TO
CONNECTING OR DISCONNECTING LASER HEAD CABLING TO OR
FROM THE HP 5517B'S REAR PANEL.
4-10. Check the 5517B voltages in the following manner:
a. Disconnect cable from HP 5517B Laser Head
b. Measure the voltages at the disconnected cable plug as outlined in Table 4-1.
