Edition 02.97 Grassland Mower Hopper 5000 19
3. Devices and Operating Elements
Clutch
The machine is equipped with a conus
clutch which is integrated in a worm gear
to drive the wheels and with a V-belt
clutch with pulley to drive the cutter bar.
Actuation is via the clutch control lever
for wheel-drive (A/1) and via the clutch
control lever for the mowing drive (A/2).
The clutch levers simultaneously serve
as a dead man’s handle. Upon release
of the handle the clutch is disengaged
and the engine stops driving the wheels
and the cutter bar.
Both clutches can be actuated inde-
pendently.
The handles are factory-set to a play of
at least 10 mm to prevent the clutch from
slipping during work.
Check the clutch play after the first op-
erating hour and readjust the play if nec-
essary (see maintenance instructions).
I
The clutch control levers are
designed as dead stop. Upon
release, the handles will auto-
matically go to position „STOP“ to shut
off the engine instantly.
W
Do not tie the dead man’s
handles.
Transmission
The grassland mower is equipped with
one forward speed.
Forward speed is engagad/disengaged
with the clutch control lever (A/1):
l
Engage forward speed: move clutch
control lever (A/1) towards the handle-
bar.
l
Disengage forward speed: Release
the clutch control lever (A/1).
Mowing drive
The knives are driven via a rocker drive.
The mowing drive is engaged/disen-
gaged with the clutch control lever (A/2):
l
Engage mowing drive:
Pull the clutch control lever (A/2) to-
wards the handlebar
l
Disengage the mowing drive:
Release the clutch control lever (A/2)
