2 Getting to know your desk phone
2.1 ALE-2 Basic DeskPhone
The ALE-2 Basic DeskPhone is part of the new Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise DeskPhones, and is equipped with a
backlight black-and-white display associated with 3 dedicated function keys, and an intuitive navigation key. The
desk phone delivers an excellent user experience and optimum calling effect, and is compatible with remote
working VPN. In this way, it is perfect for use at your office or at home (remote working). The ALE-2 Basic DeskPhone
supports dual 1000 Mbps Ethernet ports.
2.8-inch black-and-white screen
Navigation key
8 virtual programmable keys (navigating through 4 pages)
allow you to configure various features including SIP
accounts and speed dial. You can navigate through pages on
the screen with the navigation key to use different keys.
HD loudspeakers
Soft keys: provide menu options and corresponding
features. Soft keys can be configured for different options
by the administrator.
• In Idle state: you can press soft keys to enter different
levels of menus to operate and manage the phone.
• In the conversation mode: soft keys perform different
actions depending on the application scenarios.
HD wide-band wired handset
Function keys: provide quick access to the phone’s features.
