A maximum of 1,000 songs for one bank can be stored according
to the order stored in USB Memory. However, song stored order in
bank may dier from the song order in the USB Memory device in
some case.
For example:
Searching by Artist name
e following example explains how an Artists search is performed.
Another search mode can be used for the same operation, although the
hierarchy diers.

Turn the Rotary encoder to select a desired Bank, and then
press
s
/ENTER.
The "Banking" may be displayed for a few seconds.
Turn the Rotary encoder to select a song and press
s
/ENTER.
The selected song is played back.
Turn the Rotary encoder to select the Artist search mode,
and then press
s
/ENTER.
Turn the Rotary encoder to select the desired Artist, and
then press

Before performing the following procedures, make sure FILE NAME
is selected in "Setting the USB Search Mode" (refer to "Setting the USB
Search Mode" on page 20).
USB Memory can contain hundreds of songs. By organizing songs by
folder, you can quickly nd a desired folder/le. is operation is similar
to search a folder/le from PC.

If a folder is opened in Step 3, Repeat Steps 2 to 3 until the
desired folder/le is found.

In the Tag search mode, aer pressing and holding

all songs of the selected hierarchy are played back.

Even if the songs belong to the same playlist, they may be saved in
dierent BANK.
While in the search mode, if you press and hold

e root folder of USB Memory is displayed as "\ROOT".
If any one of the
preset buttons (1 through 6)
is pressed in
the search mode, a search can be made quickly by skipping to the
specied location. For details, refer to "Direct Search Function" on
page 29.
In the search mode, pressing
c
will return to the previous mode.
In the (FILE NAME) search mode, a search can be made quickly by
USB Skip function to nd the desired folder/le. For details, refer to
"Setting the USB Skip function" on page 20.
When the bank is changed during Repeat play, the Repeat play will
be cancelled.
In the Tag search mode, a search can be made quickly by Alphabet
search function to nd the desired artist or song, etc. For details, refer
to "Alphabet search function" on page 30..
When search is made during M.I.X. play, the M.I.X. play mode will
be cancelled.
When searching for a song, artist, etc., in USB Memory, the display
order may be incorrect if the character code of the le tag information
is mixed.
e unit's direct search function can be used to search for an album,
song, etc., more eciently. In Playlist/Artist/Album/Song/Podcast/
Genre/Composer mode, you can quickly target any song.
Direct Search Function
In the search mode, press any one of the preset buttons (1
through 6) to quickly skip over a designated percent of your
song content.
Song search example:
If there are 100 songs in your iPod/iPhone, they are divided into 6
groups using percentages (shown below). ese groups are assigned
to the preset buttons (1 through 6).
Example 1:
Suppose the song you are searching for is located at around
the middle (50%) of your library: press button 4 to jump to the
50th song and turn the Rotary encoder to nd the desired song.
Example 2:
Suppose the song you are searching for is located near the end
(83%) of your library: press button 6 to jump to the 83rd song
and turn the
Rotary encoder
to nd the desired song.
