Archiving Video
Archive video to tape, to a network, or a combination.The new Network Archive functionality allows
automatic archiving that you can store off-site.
Note
The Archive button is enabled only when a tape drive is connected to the Intellex unit. For the
option of network archiving only, the Archive button is disabled.

Archiving to Tape
You can back up the image database while recording or after stopping the recording.
1 From the main screen, select Archive. The Archive Options screen appears.
2 Click Back up images to tape to archive in the background. The Image Database Backup
screen appears.
Note
Back up images to tape is disabled during combined tape/network archiving.
While Recording
1 Click Back up while recording to archive in the background.
2 Insert a backup tape.
3 After the tape drive’s lights stop blinking, click Next. Select 1:
• Append to the end of the tape to continue archiving after the last saved image on the tape.
• Overwrite the images on the tape
• Use a different tape to eject the tape and start over by inserting another tape.
After Stopping Recording
1 Click Stop recording and back up now to stop recording and back up immediately, in the
foreground. The unit interrupts normal operation and does not record any images during the
backup.
2 Continue as in steps 2 and 3 above.
