2.2 Install and Configure the Handset
The recommended method to install and configure a handset is through Easy Deployment, by
using a pre-configured staging WLAN. If Easy Deployment is not configured in the system, use
QR code and NFC setup, or install the handset manually through the admin settings menu.
Follow the instructions in the applicable section:
• 2.2.1 Install Using Easy Deployment on page 7
• 2.2.2 Install Using QR Codes and NFC on page 8
• 2.2.3 Manual Installation on page 9
2.2.1 Install Using Easy Deployment
The handset is automatically installed and configured, if the Wi-Fi system is configured for Easy
Deployment. Refer to the Configuration Manual, Ascom Myco Smartphone for information on
how to configure Easy Deployment in the Wi-Fi system.
If the handset is successfully installed after the Easy Deployment process, but has not received
a messaging number automatically, do the following:
1 If the handset is turned On, turn it Off and then On again.
2 When the handset displays: "No messaging number configured for this device", tap Setup
number.

NOTE: For detailed instructions, refer to the Configuration Manual, Ascom Myco
Smartphone.
NOTE: Easy Deployment does not automatically provide the handset with a DECT
subscription. Before the handset can be used in DECT environment, the
administrator must do one of the following:
• Manually subscribe the handset to the DECT system and log in
to an extension manually.
• Enable the DECT Easy Registration feature for automatic DECT
subscription and login.
