This section contains operating procedures for using the NVMPS
as hand-held, head mounted, helmet mounted or weapon mounted
monocular. Prior to operating the monocular, make certain that all
the steps in 2.3.3., Assembly and Preparation for Use, have been
read and performed.

Operate the monocular only under darkened conditions or use the
objective lens cap to cover the objective lens for daylight condi-
tions.
NOTE


(1) Ensure that the battery are installed per paragraph 2.3.2.
(2) Turn the power switch to ON.

(3) Rotate the diopter adjustment for the clearest view of the image
intensifier screen.
(4) Focus the objective lens while observing an object until the
sharpest image is obtained.

Perform the following procedures for head mounted operation.
