When stat ionary apply footb rake wh ile sele cting gear
A t ime delay e lemen t prevents t he selecto r leve r from locking when
it is moved through the

Kick - down
The kick-down features allows maximum vehicle acceler -
ation.
Applies to vehicles with a multitronic ® transmis sion
When you depress the accelerator pedal beyond the res istance point,
t he t ransm ission down sh ifts into a lowe r gear ratio depend ing on the
vehicle speed and engine speed. As long as the accelerator peda l is
dep ressed, t he engine speed is automatically regulated for maximum
acceleration .
Applies to vehicles with a tiptronic t ran smi ss ion
When you depress the accelerator pedal beyond the res istance point,
the au t omatic transmiss ion downshifts into a lower gear, depend ing
on vehicle speed and eng ine speed. The upshift into the nex t higher
gear takes place once the maximum spec ified engine speed is
reached .
& WARNING
Please note that the drive wheel s can spin if kick-down is used on
a smooth s lippery road - ther e is a ris k of skidding. •

Dynamic shift program (DSP)
The automatic transmission is electronically cont rolled .
The transmission is self adapting and w ill automati cally select the
best shift program suited to the driving conditions and driving style.
The transmiss ion will select one of the
economy programs whe n you
drive at a steady speed or a gradua lly changing speed without heavy
accele ration . This achieves optim um fuel eff iciency, with early
upshifting and de layed downshifting. .,_
