Driver information system
Introduction
The Driver information display inside the instrument
cluster provides you, the driver, with important informa-
tion.

With the ignition on, the display in the Driver Information System
shows the follow ing informat ion:
• CD* inserted or Radio* station set
• Out side temperat ure*: At temperat ures below 41 °F (+S °C), a
snowflake symbo l appears in front of the temperatu re display=> & .
• Wa rning: front lid, doo r or engine compartment lid open: The
display appears if the door, the eng ine compartment lid or front lid is
not closed .

Auto Check Control
Some functions and veh icle components are scanned for their oper-
at ing status whe n you swi tc h the ign ition on and while you are
driv ing . Malfunctions or required service procedures are signa led
audib ly and ind icated by red and yellow illum inated symbols and
reminders in the display=>
page 29 .
& WARNING
• Never rely exclusively on the outside temperature display to
determin e if a road surface is icy or not. Keep in mind that road
surfaces, especially bridges and overpasses, could be ice covered
and slippery even at an outside temperature above 41 °F (+5 ° C).
• Always remember , even if the "snowflake " symbol (ice
warning ) does not appear in the display, black ice could be on the
