Pollutant filter
The poll utant filte r (pa rticle fi lter) ensures that contami na nts in the
outs ide air (such as dust or pollen) are greatly reduced or stopped.
The ai r is also fi ltered in recircula tion mode .
The po llutant fi lter e lement must be changed according to the inter-
vals specified in the ma inte nan ce schedule so t hat t he air condi -
tioning system's performance is not adve rsely affected .
If the filter 's effectiveness is weakened by dr iving the vehicle in a reas
with heav ily polluted out side a ir, t he filte r element sho uld also be
changed in between the listed services.
& WARNING
For safet y reasons , it is important that all windows are free of ice,
snow, and condensation . Only then is good visibility ensured .
Please familiar ize yourself with the correct operation of the air
conditioning and how to dehumidify / defrost the window s.

• To avoid adversely affecting heating and cooling performance and
t o preven t condensat ion on t he windows, t he air intake in front of the
windshield must be free of ice, snow, and leaves .
• The a ir com ing from t he ven t s a nd circulating throug h the entire
inter ior is extracted through the outlet slots in the side panels in the
luggage comp a rt ment . Make sure th at t he o ut let s lot s a re not
covered by clothi ng, etc.
• Climate contro l wor ks most effective ly if the windows are closed.
However, if the interior of a parked vehicle is extremely hot from the
sun's rays, br iefly opening the windows can speed up t he cooling
process . •
Setting temperature
- Turn t he rot ary knob © ~ page 79, fig . 75 to th e des ired
tem per atu re sett ing .
To set a lowe r temperatu re, turn the rotary knob to the left . To set a
higher temperature, turn the rotary knob to the right . There are addi -
ti onal inte rmedia t e se tt ings available t o adjus t the t empe rat ure as
needed. a
