Remove the "max . 50 mph" (80 km/h)
sticker from the sealant bottle and affix it to
the instrument cluster in the dr iver's view.
A WARNING
- Turn the hazard flashers on and set up
the warning t riang le if you have a flat
t ire in moving t raff ic. In this way you pro-
tect yourself and ot her road users.
- Make su re that all passengers are in a
safe place, out of the dange r zone (for
exa mple, behind a guard ra il).

Part icular care is necessary if you are mak-
ing a tire repair on a steep incline.

Making a tire repair
Applies to vehicles: with Tire Mobility System
Tire repair consists of the following sections.

Assembling Tire Mobility System
Open the lid @ of th e e lectr ic air pump

Pull the plug @) and the pressure hose ®
with the gauge out of the housi ng.
Screw the pressure hose ® of the electric
air pump onto the flange ® of the sealant
bott le @ .
Push t he sea lant bott le with the flange
down into the recess @ on th e lid of the
elec tr ic air pump.
Remove the dust cap from t he valve of the
defective t ire.
Screw the hose @) onto the valve

Insert the plug @ <=> fig. 164 into t he socket
for the cigarette lighter.
Switch on the ign ition.
Inflating tire
Move the swit ch @ ¢ fig . 165 on the elec-
tric air pump
l) to position I. After 5 mi-
nutes , tire pressure m ust have reached at
least 1.8 bar .
Switch the electric air pump off - switch in
position
0 . If t he required t ire pressure of at
least 1.8 bar has not been reached, follow
the inst ructions in the section
Re-inflating
tire.
Re-inflating tire
Remove the hose from the valve and pull
the plug out of the socket.
Drive the veh icle slowly 10 me ters back-
wa rd o r fo rward . This helps to distribu t e the
sealant better.
Remove the empty inflat ion bot t le and
screw t he hose ® ¢
fig. 164 from the elec-
tric pump direct ly onto the valve.
Insert the plug @ <=>
fig. 164 into t he socket
for the cigarette lighter.
Switch o n the ignition .
