6 8 Seat s and s torage
- The vehicle battery m ust not be charged
with a standa rd small charger that plugs
into the cigarette lighter or outlet .
Outlet
The outlet in the front center console may be
used for 12-volt appliances.

Fold the cover for the outlet up.
Plug in appliance to be used.
The outlet may be used for 12-vo lt appliances
with maximum consumption of up to 100
watts, such as a flash light, small vacuum
cleaner, etc.
Before you purchase any accessories, always
read and follow the information in
c::> page 247, Additional accessories and parts
replacement.
A WARNING
The outlet p lus any appliances plugged in-
to it rema in fun ction al even if t he ignit ion
is switched off or the igni t ion key is re-
moved . Never leave children inside the ve-
hicle without supervision .

To avo id damag ing the so cket, on ly use
plugs tha t f it properly.
(D) Tips
When the engine is off and accessories are
st ill p lugged in and are on, the vehicle bat-
tery can st ill be dra ined.
Storage
General
A WARNING

- Always remove objects from the instru-
ment panel. Any items not put away
could slide around ins ide the vehicle
while driving or when accelerat ing or
when applying the brakes or when driv-
ing around a corner.
- When you are dr iving make su re that
anyth ing you may have placed in the cen-
ter console or other storage locations
cannot fall out into the footwe lls. In case
of sudden bra king you would not be able
to brake or accelera t e.
- Any arti cles of clothing that you have
hu ng up must not interfere with the dr iv-
er 's view. The coat hooks are des igned
only for lightweight clothing. Neve r hang
a ny clothing with hard, pointed or heavy
objects in the pockets on the coat hooks.
During sudden braking or in an accident -
especia lly if the a irbag is deployed -
these objects could injure any passen-
ge rs inside the vehicle.
Glove compartment
The glove compartment is illuminated and
can be locked.
