7 2 Warm and c old
Turn the knob @ c:> page 70, fig. 77 to the
left to switch the climate contro l system off.
The LED next to the word OFF comes on .
Setting fan speed

Turn the knob @ c:> page 70, fig. 77 to the
setti ng you wa nt to adjust fan speed (air
quantity) .
In automat ic mode the climate control sys-
tem automatically regulates fan speed de-
pending on interior tempera t ure . You ca n ad-

To ope n and close the out lets, turn the ad-
just ing ring.
To adju st the direction of t he airflow from
the outle t , move the t ab in the cen ter of the
outlet in the desired direct ion . The direction
of the air de livered from the vents can be
adjusted horizontally and vertically .
Air distribution:
- In se tt ing
-0-, air flows only to the windows,
ven t s @ and @ are open. To defrost t he
dr iver an d front passenger side windows
most effectively, the vents @ should be di-
rected towa rd the side windows.
- In sett ing®, a ir flows only t o the dr iver/
passenger , vents @ and @ are open.

meet your own requirements .
(D Tips
If t he d ifference between the desired tem-
perat ure set by you and the veh icle's inte ri-
or temperature is too g reat, the fan speed
will change a utomat ically. This is done so
that the desired temperat ure setting is
reached as quickly as possib le.
- In setting
-0, air flows only to t he footwe ll,
vents ® a re open.
- In setting~. air flows on ly to the windows
and the footwell , vents @ , @ and ® are
open .
There are addit ional comb inations (thro ugh
intermediate settings) available to adjust a ir
distribution as needed .
(D Tips
If the clima t e controls are running in cool-
ing mode, air should flow mainly from
vents @ and @ . To achieve suffici ent cool-
ing, you should never close t hese vents
complete ly.
